Notice: Editable printables have now been replaced with e-books.

EDITABLE PRINTABLES
You can edit text on screen before printing. Just type in your message into the space provided and click print. This is helpful if you don't have a graphic program you are comfortable with.

Editable Printables are compatible with Internet Explorer and new Aol.
If you are using Internet Explorer 7, please make sure you change the Print Scale from "Shrink to fit" to 100%. Click here for directions.

Mozilla browsers are not compatible at all. Several users notified me they were able to use Firefox for editables just fine but this doesn't seem to work for all.
The writing appears too wide to fit within the display area. Or the display area is too wide.

Adding text to printables.

With a mouse pointer highlight sample text.

Then delete it by pressing the delete key on the keyboard.

Type your own text. ("Get" is the word I have added, to add more text to the second and the third line, repeat the steps; highligh text, delete it and type your own.)

Internet Explorer 7
If you use Internet Explorer 4,5, or 6, you do not need to change anything.

If you use Internet Explorer 7, Firefox** or Netscape**, you will need to change print settings.

Printed pages will be automatically resized in Internet Explorer 7, Firefox or Netscape so that all content fits on the printed page. Most times it does not matter if you print a smaller copy, but many times it is important that the printed copy is exactly the same size as the candy you wish to overwrap for example. You can follow my suggestions below.

** Please note, not all printables are compatible with Firefox and Netscape.

Internet Explorer 7
  1. Find a small image of a printer.

  2. Click on the drop-down arrow next to the printer icon and select Print Preview.

  3. The Print Preview pane appears.

  4. Change Print Scale from "Shrink to fit" to 100%.
    (default is shrink to fit)

Pick a scaling rate of your choice.
    I use 100% or 97%.

CHANGING PRINT MARGINS (to further maximize print space)

  5. Click on the PAGE SETUP icon.

  6. Here's how to change settings:

  7. Select Letter Borderless from the drop down list

  8. Delete all text in the "Headers and Footers text boxes.

  9. Change print margins to 0. (0 may be automatically changed to any minimum that your printer supports.)

  10. Click OK.
  11. Done.

Internet Explorer 6
  1. Go to File Menu and highlight Print Preview

  2. This will show you what your printed copy will look like.
It will also show you if you have anything hanging out of the margin range.

If "something's" hanging out, delete everything from the Header and Footer entry fields and set all margins to either 0.75" or 0.25" or any minimum that your printer allows.

IMPORTANT Please write down the size that was set by default before changing the margin. Unless you do this, you won't be able to restore your default settings.
